Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our administration team at a primary school in Mandurah.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will assist the Principal in school operations by providing expertise in financial matters, including financial decision-making, efficient process development, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Principal with financial decision-making and provide expert advice on financial matters.
* Develop and implement efficient financial processes and procedures.
* Prepare and submit financial reports, including Business Activity Statements and general ledger processing.
* Manage accounts receivable and payable, and maintain accurate financial records.
* Provide support and guidance to staff on financial matters.
Selection Criteria:
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. A commitment to excellence in financial management.
2. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team while taking responsibility for individual tasks.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
5. Extensive experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
6. Experience in financial procedures, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger processing.
7. Sound knowledge of relevant accrual accounting practices.
8. Ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to improve processes.
9. Friendly and approachable manner.
10. Advanced level of computer skills and knowledge, including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Applications.
Desirable Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business, or a related field would be an advantage. Experience in a school environment would also be beneficial.
