About The Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
Under the Towards Zero Suicides investment, NSW Ministry of Health provided dedicated funding to establish Alternatives to Emergency Department (Safe Haven) initiatives across all NSW Local health districts. The Sydney Local health district (SLHD) alternative to ED (Safe haven) provides those in suicidal crisis or experiencing emotional distress with an alternative means of accessing timely and appropriate support.
The role will be Monday to Friday but extended hours during the week to be available when other services are not opened.

Ideal Candidate
* Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology that provides eligibility for full membership of the relevant professional association and/or AHPRA; For Clinical Psychologist must hold a post graduate degree in clinical psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) that provides eligibility for full membership of the APS and ACPA. For Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 must have a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent Mental Health experience. Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
* Understanding of and commitment to recovery oriented services and consumer involvement in service design, implementation and evaluation.
* Demonstrated experience working across inpatient and community sites, and experience in ensuring integrated care and effective partnerships with GPs and non-governmental organisation.
