Great Ocean Road Health serves the communities of Lorne, Apollo Bay, and the Surf Coast, providing high-quality, accessible healthcare close to home. Formed in 2019 through the integration of Lorne Community Hospital and Otway Health, we offer a range of services across our Lorne and Apollo Bay campuses. Our goal is to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community, ensuring sustainable, robust care for the future while maintaining local services and staff levels.

About the Role

GORH are seeking a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Allied Health Team on either a fixed term part time basis for 32 hours per fortnight while our current OT is on parental leave. Casual applications will be considered. The role is based in both Apollo Bay and Lorne.

Eligible candidates may be able to apply for the government funded SPOTS Program to support their transition to rural healthcare. Details below.

About the Program

The SPOTS Program provides grants of up to $15,000 for final year speech pathology or occupational therapy students who choose to work in regional or rural Victoria upon completion of their course.

Grant amount: Up to $15,000 split across two instalments of $7,500

Eligibility: Open to final year students of speech pathology or occupational therapy degrees who complete their studies in 2025

Number of grants: Up to 180 grants are available across 2026

Application period for round three: 28 October to 24 February 2026

These grants are designed to help strengthen rural and regional workforces. We encourage health services in regional and rural Victoria to promote the program as part of their recruitment strategy to encourage speech pathology and occupational therapy graduates to work in public health services.
