Job Description
We are seeking a strategic leader to drive business growth and excellence in the commercial vehicle industry. As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing sales functions, ensuring strong revenue growth and customer acquisition. You will work closely with the sales team to drive success and have direct responsibility for managing parts and service operations.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Manager in a truck or automotive dealership, with a strong understanding of commercial vehicle sales, service operations, and parts distribution. They will also have demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively, with strong financial management skills and a track record of driving sales growth and increasing profitability.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
o Develop and execute a business strategy that aligns with company goals and drives revenue growth.
o Monitor and manage the dealerships financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
o Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, such as fleet sales, service contracts, and parts distribution.
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations and manufacturer requirements.
o Oversee new and used truck sales, ensuring targets are met and profitability is maintained.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fleet operators, and industry stakeholders.
o Analyse market trends and develop competitive strategies to maintain a strong market position.
o Collaborate with the marketing team to implement effective promotional campaigns and brand-building initiatives.
* Operations & Service Excellence:
o Ensure efficient operations across all departments, including our 24/7 breakdown service and on-site fleet maintenance.
o Optimise inventory management for parts and vehicle stock to ensure availability while minimising costs.
o Drive a customer-centric culture, implementing service excellence initiatives and ensuring customer satisfaction KPIs are met.
o Monitor key operational metrics, including turnaround times, service efficiency, and warranty claim management.
* Leadership & Team Development:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across all dealership departments.
o Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
o Implement training and development programs to upskill staff and enhance performance.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to drive employee engagement and retention.

Requirements
* Industry Experience & Knowledge:
o Proven experience as a General Manager, Dealer Principal, or Senior Manager in a truck or automotive dealership.
o Strong understanding of commercial vehicle sales, service operations, and parts distribution.
o Experience working with OEMs, manufacturers, and key industry stakeholders.
* Leadership & Business Acumen:
o Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
o Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and cost control.
o A track record of driving sales growth, increasing profitability, and optimising dealership performance.
* Customer-Focused & Results-Driven:
o Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
o Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
o Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that enhance customer retention and satisfaction.
* Communication & Negotiation Skills:
o Strong ability to negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, and corporate clients.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Proficiency in CRM systems, dealership management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
