About the Opportunity
As our new Senior Project Manager within the SSN AUKUS Build Preparedness Integrated Project Team (IPT), you will lead critical cross-functional projects that lay the foundation for the submarine build phase.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile national defence program, working with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure readiness, alignment, and successful delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage cross-functional build preparation projects across the SSN AUKUS Build Program.
Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, and reporting dashboards to support decision-making.
Coordinate with IPT leads, delivery partners, and government stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
Identify and manage program-level risks, issues, and interdependencies.
Prepare high-quality reports, leadership briefings, and documentation for governance and readiness reviews.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and sharing lessons learned.
Mentor and support junior project managers and coordinators within the IPT.
About you
Hold tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
Desirable: Experience in defence, infrastructure, or large-scale government programs, and familiarity with ASC, BAE Systems, or Defence governance frameworks.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
