Job Description
We are seeking a junior legal counsel to provide expert legal support across the Hassell group. In this role, you will work closely with the Company Secretary / General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel on a variety of legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your career within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including consultancy, NDA, project contracts, deeds of novation, certificates, joint venture agreements, premises lease agreements, and supplier agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare advice on national and international issues.
- Maintain records of material agreements.
- Report legal risks promptly.
- Advise on legal developments and their impact.
- Support project teams on claims, disputes, and debt recovery.
- Assist with additional legal matters as required.
Qualifications
- Holds a current Australian Legal Practice Certificate.
- At least 2 years of PQE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen.
- Ideally some knowledge or interest in built environment projects.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and professional integrity.
