Program Coordinator - Community Resilience Initiative (Central Gippsland)

The Program Coordinator will support ABV's Resilient Regions Program in Central Gippsland, focusing on strengthening disaster and economic resilience in Gippsland, Victoria. Key activities include deploying ABV's Skilled Business Professionals (SBPs) to assist community organizations, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting community-led initiatives.

This role may involve supporting organizations during natural disasters through short-term secondments to foster collaborative action.

The program is supported by a research project by Deakin University on the role of businesses in disaster preparedness and recovery.

The objectives are to:

1. Deliver program outcomes.
2. Develop collaborative relationships with ABV teams, communities, and stakeholders.
3. Strengthen community networks for long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

* Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate engagement with community organizations, councils, and stakeholders; scope needs; brief partners; liaise with relevant parties.
* Emergency Support and Community Collaboration: Support organizations during natural disasters via short-term secondments, acting as liaison to strengthen relationships.
* Communications and Development: Support communication activities, prepare reports, and identify quality improvement opportunities.

Accountabilities:

* Maintain relationships to support program delivery and community networks.
* Support daily operations and deliver activities as per plans.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
* Monitor risks and escalate issues as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

* Qualifications in community development, social work, project management, or related fields.
* 3+ years' experience in project coordination or management.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience in community development and disaster management.
* Ability to work independently and travel within Gippsland.

Desired Requirements:

* Understanding of trauma-informed practices.
* Deep knowledge of Central Gippsland's community networks.

Mandatory:

* Satisfactory National Police Check.
* Vic Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.

Significant travel within Gippsland is required.
