Overview
Garden and Maintenance Supervisor – Footscray.
Yooralla is seeking a Full-time Garden and Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Maintenance and Gardening team in Footscray.
The role involves liaising with Yooralla Service Providers and external contracts, working directly with people with special needs to engage in work-based learning, skills development and community building, and providing leadership, on-the-job training and support while managing a Commercial Social Enterprise.
Responsibilities
Lead the Garden and Maintenance team in Footscray and manage service providers and external contracts.
Engage with people with disability to support work-based learning, skills development and community integration.
Provide leadership, on-the-job training and ongoing support to staff while focusing on the commercial/social enterprise objectives.
Oversee horticultural activities and maintain gardens and related grounds.
Ensure safety and compliance in all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Horticultural qualification.
Current driver\'s licence to drive in Australia.
First Aid (HLTAID003) Certificate.
Current National Police Check; International Police Check if required; Working with Children Check if required; NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Experience with safe selection and application of pesticides and herbicides; familiarity with electrical power tools and non-electrical manual tools.
Experience in the management and planning of building and grounds maintenance, with strong safety knowledge and skills.
Gardens and grounds maintenance experience.
Mandatory
Horticultural qualification.
Current National Police Check and other checks as required (International Police Check if required; Working with Children Check if required; NDIS Worker Screening Check).
Current driver\'s licence to drive in Australia.
First Aid (HLTAID003) Certificate.
Essential
Previous experience in property maintenance and/or horticultural activity.
Experience using power tools or equipment relevant to property maintenance.
Previous garden maintenance or grounds work experience in a similar position.
