Base Salary: $146,197 - $154,260 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking an experienced Program Manager to facilitate the establishment and delivery of a new strategic initiative, the FMH Academy. This flagship program is part of the Collective Excellence 2028 strategy and is designed to bring together educators and scholars to strengthen collaboration, advance the scholarship of learning and teaching, and improve teaching quality and student outcomes.
This newly created role will initially operate in a project‐management capacity to enhance the program structure, governance, and operating model. As the initiative matures, the role will transition into ongoing program management, supporting delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement across Academy activities.
Working closely with senior academic leaders, the Program Manager will translate strategic direction into clear, actionable delivery plans and build the systems and structures required to support effective implementation. The role involves coordinating multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, and driving progress in a complex and evolving environment.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and manage the overall program plan, including timelines, milestones and deliverables
* Establish and coordinate multiple workstreams and ensure alignment across the program
* Design and implement governance, reporting, evidentiary and risk‐management frameworks
* Manage engagement with academic leaders, education researchers and enabling service portfolios
* Support collaboration and identify opportunities to strengthen education research and teaching practice
* Oversee program communications, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities
* Coordinate events, including workshops, forums and meetings that support Academy objectives
* Provide high‐level program advice, analysis and reporting to senior academic leaders
About you
* Experienced program or project leader with a strong track record in complex, multi‐stakeholder environments
* Skilled at translating strategy into structured, practical delivery plans across multiple workstreams
* Confident working autonomously, exercising sound judgement and taking ownership of outcomes
* Proven experience delivering complex programs, ideally in higher education, research, health or similarly complex organisations
* Strong organisational capability with a focus on planning, detail and proactive risk and dependency management
* Highly effective communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders and diverse teams
* Comfortable navigating ambiguity, competing priorities and evolving program environments while maintaining clarity and momentum
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent combination of relevant experience required
