Vacation Program – Research & Development Tax

About BDO

We're BDO, a global professional services firm connected to local markets. Our people work together to provide specialist expertise, helping businesses achieve their goals.

We inspire others, to go further. We create together, to reach higher. We build trust, to lead purposefully.

Whether you're building your future or starting your career with us, you won't do it alone. From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that's where you come in.

About the Role

Join BDO as a Vacationer in our Research & Development team in June/July 2026, November/December 2026 or January/February 2027!

As a Vacationer, you'll see firsthand how our Research & Development (R&D) team help clients access the R&D Tax Incentive by helping to identify eligible R&D activities and calculate eligible R&D expenditure.

You'll gain an understanding of how we identify research and development activities, advise clients on how to manage state and commonwealth funded grants, review technical documentation to ensure the client meets the funding eligibility criteria, advise clients on best practice systems and processes for data collection, how to comply with laws and regulations, how to respond to requests for information and audits and more!

About the Vacation Program

This is more than just work experience. Our 4-week, full-time paid program offers:

* Support from your buddy and manager
* Networking and social activities
* The chance to work with your Vacationer cohort on an Innovation Challenge
* Opportunities to develop your technical and essential skills
* Benefits including healthy snacks and dress for your day
* Insights into the career paths at BDO, and the possibility of a graduate offer at the end of the program.
Eligibility

To be eligible for our Vacation Program, you must be:

* Studying a degree in Accounting, Commerce, Law, IT, Science, Engineering or a related discipline
* In your penultimate or final year of your undergraduate or postgraduate studies
* Available to start in June/July 2026, November/December 2026 or January/February 2027 (intake timing may vary by location).
