Legal Team Overview
Our legal team plays a crucial role in ensuring that our business operates within local and international laws. We work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure compliance and provide expert legal knowledge to protect the business.
Responsibilities
1. Review, support, and secure legal aspects of IKEA Australia and New Zealand's businesses and operations.
2. Cooperate with stakeholders to build good relations and secure sustainable solutions.
3. Proactively support management and other stakeholders.
4. Review, draft, and negotiate contracts.
5. Secure rights and assess obligations to reduce legal risks and optimize business opportunities.
6. Align with Group Legal & Governance to ensure global and country-specific legal compliance.
7. Contribute to business plans, development projects, and roadmaps.
8. Implement standard legal processes within the Ingka Group.
9. Develop competence and provide education on laws and regulations to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
* A university degree in law - Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
* A current Australian or New Zealand practising certificate.
* 3 – 6 years PQE with experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house (preferably FMCG) in Australia and New Zealand.
* Extensive experience in commercial contracting, with a good understanding of consumer and property law.
* Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand law and regulation.
* Passion for growth and gaining experience in different legal areas.
* Problem-solving skills and strong commercial acumen.
* Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.

Additional Information
* This role is Permanent, Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
* The role is based in IKEA Service Office – HubHus, Tempe NSW, Australia.
* The internal job title for this role is Legal Specialist.
* This role offers hybrid working, including a minimum of 3 days in the Service Office.
