Job Overview
As a Farm Operator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our farm crew. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and contributing to a productive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Orchard & Farming Operations: Assist with orchard care tasks including pruning, pest monitoring, weed control, and crop monitoring. Also, support spray programs, maintain accurate application records, and assist with soil moisture checks and tree health observations.
* Machinery & Equipment: Operate tractors, sprayers, mowers, and other orchard machinery safely. Perform daily pre-start checks, routine servicing, and assist with installation, maintenance, and monitoring of irrigation systems.
* Maintenance & Infrastructure: Carry out basic repairs on equipment within your skill level. Perform routine checks on pumps, filters, and irrigation components. Report major maintenance needs to your supervisor or manager.
* Safety & Teamwork: Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members. Represent our organization professionally in the community.
Requirements
* Previous farm or orchard experience preferred;
* Ability to operate farm/orchard machinery safely;
* Strong attention to detail;
* Good communication skills and a team-first attitude;
* Motivation to learn and grow in a progressive horticulture business;
* Enjoy working outdoors in a physically active role;
Nice to Have
* Willingness to undertake Cert II–IV in Horticulture;
