About the Role:
As part of our continued growth and recent project awards, NRWCivil & Mining are seeking an experienced Design Manager to joinour high-performing civil infrastructure team based in Perth. Thisis an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership roleresponsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design activitiesand ensuring design delivery aligns with project requirements,statutory standards, and client expectations.
Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, andexternal consultants, you will play a critical role in supportingthe design development and delivery phases across a range of civilinfrastructure projects including road upgrades, bridges, bulkearthworks, drainage, utilities, rail interfaces, and urbaninfrastructure works.
To be considered as a Design Manager; you must possessthe following as a minimum:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a relateddiscipline
* Demonstrated experience coordinating design across civilinfrastructure projects in Western Australia
* Strong working knowledge of Main Roads Western Australia(MRWA) specifications, road design standards, and drainagerequirements
* Experience working within D&C or alliance contractenvironments
* Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, IFCdocumentation, and technical specifications
* Familiarity with design software such as 12d, Civil 3D,AutoCAD and/or BIM coordination platforms
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* High attention to detail with strong programme andcoordination capability
As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for but notlimited to:
* Coordinating and managing external design consultantsacross civil, structural, drainage, pavement, services andgeotechnical disciplines
* Ensuring design documentation complies with Main RoadsWestern Australia standards, Austroads guidelines and relevantAustralian Standards
* Managing design deliverables in accordance with D&C orEPC contract requirements
* Facilitating design coordination meetings, constructabilityreviews and risk workshops
* Identifying and managing design risks, non-conformances andtechnical queries (RFIs)
* Overseeing design change management and maintainingalignment with project scope, budget and schedule
* Liaising with key stakeholders including local councils,Public Transport Authority and utility providers such asWestern Power and Water Corporation
* Supporting approval processes, technical submissions andauthority clearances
* Ensuring Safety in Design (SiD) obligations are met anddocumented
* Providing technical support to project and site teams toresolve design-related issues during construction
* Performing any additional tasks as directed which arewithin your skill, qualification and competence level
