The Role
As Payroll Officer, you’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll for our group on a fortnightly basis. This includes:
•Preparing and processing payroll drafts for signoff
•Uploading ABA files for payment
•Liaising with employees and leaders on pay-related changes, including rate adjustments, work schedules and various tax & super changes
•Maintenance of employee benefits affecting payroll e.g. parental payments, salary packaging and purchased additional leave
•Prepare and post payroll journals to the general ledger, ensuring alignment with finance requirements and reconciliation processes post-payroll
•Preparation and lodgment of monthly payroll tax returns
•Management of PAYGW payments
•Administering ad hoc adjustments and resolving discrepancies as required
You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring our payroll is accurate, compliant, and processed on time, every time.
About You
•Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll (preferably in-house)
•Strong working knowledge of Employment Hero Payroll – highly desirable
•Experience with HRIS platforms (ideally Employment Hero HR)
•Understanding of relevant Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax requirements
•Prior exposure to interpreting the Nurses Award (desirable)
•Highly accurate with strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a calm, proactive approach to troubleshooting
•Strong communication skills – you’ll regularly liaise with both employees and senior leaders
