This Senior Training Specialist and Retail HR Partner role combines retail training and HR partnership to drive team capability and performance across AUNZ. You'll work closely with store leaders and HR to build skills, support employee lifecycle processes, and strengthen the retail talent pipeline. It's a hands‐on role with a focus on practical training, strong HR operations, and real impact on store results.
What will you do?
Training & Capability Development (Primary focus)
* Design and deliver retail training programs across DTC and DTP networks
* Build annual training plans based on business needs and brand priorities
* Run training needs analysis across stores and partner networks
* Develop training content covering product knowledge, sales skills, and leadership
* Deliver training through workshops, digital tools, and in‐store sessions
* Facilitate seasonal product training and core capability programs
* Provide on‐the‐ground coaching in stores to improve performance
* Partner with store managers to close capability gaps and lift team performance
* Track training effectiveness using feedback and retail KPIs (e.g. conversion, UPT, ATV)
* Improve training programs based on results and insights
* Support development pathways from frontline roles to store leadership
* Help build a strong pipeline of future retail talent
* Manage training records, reporting, and program logistics
HR Operations (Secondary focus)
* Support end‐to‐end HR processes across the employee lifecycle in AU & NZ
* Manage job postings, candidate tracking, and interview coordination in Workday
* Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and variations
* Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
* Maintain accurate employee data and HR records
* Respond to HR queries from managers and employees or escalates when needed
* Support payroll, benefits processes, and compliance requirements
* Help ensure HR policies and documentation stay up to date and compliant
How will you do it?
* Work closely with HR, retail leaders, and the APAC Academy team to understand business needs
* Use data and store performance metrics to guide training priorities
* Turn business needs into clear, practical training plans and tools
* Deliver training in a way that is simple, engaging, and easy to apply in stores
* Spend time in stores to observe, coach, and reinforce learning
* Use feedback and results to refine and improve programs over time
* Follow HR policies and local employment laws when handling HR processes
* Stay organised and detail‐focused when managing data, systems, and admin tasks
* Build strong working relationships across teams to get things done
* Take ownership of your work, manage your time well, and adjust priorities when needed
What you'll bring
* 3–5 years of experience in HR operations and/or retail training
* Good understanding of Australian employment law (NZ exposure is a plus)
* Experience using HR systems (Workday preferred)
* Hands‐on experience across recruitment, onboarding, and HR admin
* Experience delivering training or strong interest to build capability in this area
* Understanding of retail environments (DTC and/or distributor/franchise)
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable working with data and linking it to business outcomes
* Detail‐oriented and able to manage multiple tasks
