Position Summary
The purpose of the role is designing, developing and delivering high quality and timely game products. It also includes hands on development and design activities. It requires responsible for the architecture and implementation of critical software components and games. And it will require working closely with other engineers to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of software architecture. This position must demonstrate a high degree of initiative and is accountable for the thorough implementation of all tasks assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes technical knowledge to write and complete software tasks and projects
2. Researches new technologies and incorporates them into new systems and products
3. Takes initiative in leading projects, delegating responsibilities, and collaborating with others
4. Tests, integrates, writes, troubleshoots, and debugs software applications
5. Responsible for the architecture and implementation of critical software components and games; uses company standards and applies design principals and patterns to develop robust software
6. Works closely with other engineers to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of software architecture, coding standards, and system related issues
7. Acts as team mentor in a multi-person development team
8. Develop strong knowledge of Light & Wonder development processes
Qualification Requirements:
9. Training and/or Experience:
10. Highly organized and strong ability to prioritize work
11. Proficient in programming languages C# / C++
12. Working knowledge of Unity
13. Ability to work with technical correspondence
14. 4+ years’ EGM software development experience
15. High level of interest in the gaming industry
16. 5+ years of professional experience in a software development team
17. 5+ years of experience with build automation, continuous integration, unit test, change management and configuration management
18. 5+ years experience with software methodologies
19. Experience with either software engineering/embedded software/computer/electrical engineer experience with software exposure
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
20. Excellent C# and C++ programing skills
21. Minimum 4+ years programming experience
22. Ability to work well with others in a team environment
23. Full Software Development Lifecycle experience, including writing appropriate documentation for each stage
24. Strong working knowledge of operating systems
25. Configuration management experience (ie have previously used tools such as Perforce).
26. Strong working knowledge of development/modeling tools
27. Ability to lead and manage subordinates
28. Strong multi-tasking skills
29. Enjoy working in a creative environment
30. Excellent communication skills
Education:
31. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, preferably BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS or equivalent experience
