A traineeship combines full-time employment with paid study and practical, on-the-job experience. As a Trainee Regulatory Services Officer, you'll support Wagga Wagga City Council's Ranger and Compliance teams with field inspections, investigations, and community engagement, while working toward a nationally accredited qualification in regulatory compliance.

**Types of tasks / activities completed in the role**
- Assist with inspections, investigations and evidence collection
- Help educate the public on local laws and responsible pet ownership
- Contribute to reports, community engagement and issuing notices
- Support the team in managing public safety, parking, and compliance issues
- Work both in the field and in the office with a supportive team

- Comfortable working with the public—even in tricky situations
- Keen to work both indoors and outdoors
- Organised with basic computer and admin skills

**Traineeship information**

This full time, 35-hour-per-week role offers real exposure to compliance operations in local government. Across 24 months you will receive 3 hours paid study time per week and work alongside experienced Rangers and Compliance Officers who will guide your development as you gain a formal qualification. If you enjoy solving problems, care about your community, and want to build a career with purpose—this is your start.

**As the successful applicant, you will need**:

- a current Class P1, P2 or C Driver's Licence
- Immunisation for Q Fever (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated ability to be productive, prioritise your work and manage your time well
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvement and adapt to change
- Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills (conflict and resolution skills are desirable)
- Demonstrated basic computer skills
- commitment to undertaking the formal training requirements of this role
- a desire to treat others with respect and work safely to meet Work Health and Safety requirements
