Senior Legal Counsel Role
A dynamic opportunity exists to lead in-house legal activities and projects including reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial and legal documents, providing assistance with mergers and acquisitions, development and construction of new facilities, employment law matters, managing requests from internal stakeholders, dispute resolution and commercial litigation, corporate governance, general administration requirements, and keeping abreast of all new laws and regulations.
This role offers a unique blend of legal expertise and business acumen, requiring the ability to analyze complex matters, provide strategic advice, and drive effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated 5+ years post-admission experience, be qualified to practice law in Queensland, and possess a strong understanding of legal concepts and their application to achieve effective business outcomes.
* Reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial and legal documents.
* Providing assistance with mergers and acquisitions, development and construction of new facilities.
* Analyzing and identifying legal risks and implications.
* Coordinate and liaise with external legal advisors and consultants.
* General administration requirements and ad hoc projects as directed.
About You
* Demonstrated 5+ years post-admission experience and be Qualified to practice law in Queensland with relevant law experience gained from a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
* Proven knowledge of legal concepts and their application to achieve effective business outcomes.
* Strong attention to detail, documentation, drafting skills and timely communication is essential.
* Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong time management and organisation skills with ability to multi-task.
* Ability to establish, maintain and enhance positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in written format.
