This role is for a composer to create an immersive, narrative-driven soundtrack for Fun School: Chapter 2, a first-person linear horror game. The project centers on atmospheric tension and emotional storytelling, following a protagonist navigating utility tunnels in an abandoned boarding school. The music will play a crucial role in shaping the player's experience, drawing inspiration from the soundtracks of IT (2017) Chapters 1 and 2, and Poppy Playtime Chapters 1–4. The project is a personal endeavor with a focus on creative collaboration and pride in the final result. There is no strict deadline, but the aim is to maintain steady progress and deliver a memorable audio experience.
Responsibilities
Compose original music tracks tailored to key narrative moments and gameplay sequences
Develop a cohesive musical theme that enhances the horror and suspense elements of the game
Collaborate closely with the project creator to incorporate feedback and refine compositions
Integrate reference material and adapt musical style as needed to fit the evolving story
Deliver high-quality audio files in required formats for game implementation
Requirements
Proven experience composing for video games, preferably in the horror or suspense genre
Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to create atmospheric and emotionally resonant music
Proficiency with digital audio workstations and virtual instruments
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and respond constructively to feedback
Familiarity with reference soundtracks such as IT (2017) and Poppy Playtime is a plus
Availability for ongoing collaboration over several weeks; work from home
