Supporting Positive Ageing Approaches
Anglicare is seeking Volunteers to support positive ageing approaches within its Community Aged Care program.
You will be assisting customers living in their own homes with a range of meaningful activities which engage and respect individual choice.
Multiple Volunteer positions are available across metropolitan Adelaide, including:
* Social Programs support - assist workers by engaging with customers while enjoying arts and crafts, games, cooking activities and social outings.
* Phone Support - provide a friendly voice over the phone touching base and checking in with customers who may be feeling isolated and lonely.
* In Home Social Connections - be matched with customers in the community to engage with one-on-one visits in their home.
* Hospital and Respite Visiting - provide customers with much needed support and comfort while in hospital or when they are taking a break in respite.
* Administration - provide administration and program support to Anglicare teams in an office-based setting.
What You Can Expect
Supporting customers with a range of social engagement activities, directly or indirectly, to remain independent in the community.
Supporting a dedicated team of professionals in the ongoing support of older members of the community to continue to be active, independent and engaged in the community.
What We Need From You
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment in accordance with Anglicare's values
* Ability to work with empathy, compassion and in a non-judgemental and respectful manner
* Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
* The ability to report to a line manager any areas of concern regarding the customers you are working with
* Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to customers and staff
* Willingness to provide assistance in a customer centred model, adhere to the Aged Care Quality Standards and organisation policy and procedures.
