Woolpert is seeking a Bridge Engineer (PE) to join our growing infrastructure team. This is a great opportunity to be involved in high-profile projects across diverse transportation sectors. As a bridge engineer, you will lead design efforts for various transportation projects, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and unique structures like pedestrian timber suspension bridges and covered bridge rehabilitations.
As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work alongside industry-leading professionals, gaining valuable experience and mentoring less experienced staff. The position can be based in any of our Ohio offices with a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with licensed professionals and junior engineers on transportation projects.
Lead design aspects for bridges, walls, and culverts.
Prepare analyses, studies, construction plans, and reports.
Apply engineering principles and perform design and analysis calculations.
Conduct hydraulic studies related to bridge design.
Develop engineering estimates.
Mentor junior staff members.
Qualifications
ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
4-8 years of professional experience with bridge design knowledge.
Ohio PE License or ability to obtain one.
Strong communication skills, including report writing.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.
Experience with bridge analysis software, plan development, and knowledge of Ohio DOT and AASHTO standards.
