Eaglehawk Secondary College (ESC) is a Year 7-10 college, focusing on the needs of students in preparation for senior school pathways, further study and the workforce.
Students progress onto Bendigo Senior Secondary College, where ESC has a very strong partnership as a member of the Bendigo Education Plan cluster schools.
With a student population of 570 drawn from Eaglehawk, Bendigo and adjacent rural areas, ESC is projected to grow to 700.

Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – Range 1 and Range 2.
The primary focus is on planning, preparation and delivery of programmes to achieve specific student outcomes, engaging in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills.
As teachers gain experience, their contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases.
All teachers may be required to undertake other duties aligned with their salary range, qualifications, training and experience.
Classroom Teacher – Range 2
Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.
Possess content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet diverse student needs.
Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers to engage in critical reflection and support staff capacity.
Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies shaping individual and school professional learning.
Supervise and train one or more student teachers.
Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches, achieving targets related to improving learning outcomes.
Classroom Teacher – Range 1
Range 1 teachers are skilled practitioners operating under general direction within clear guidelines, accountable for effective delivery of their programmes.
They may supervise and train one or more student teachers.
Participate in the development of school policies and programmes, assisting in implementation of school priorities.
Focus on classroom management, subject content and teaching practice.
New entrants receive structured support, mentoring and guidance from higher-level teachers.
Plan and teach student groups in one or more subjects, participating in induction programmes and other professional learning activities.
Teach own classes and may assist in policy development, project teams and co-curricular activities.
Responsibilities
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other programme within the school.
Undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s).

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
If the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching programme or course on or after 1 January ****, they must demonstrate completion of a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education programme satisfying the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership standards.
Persons who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education programme after 1 July **** must also demonstrate that they have passed the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) requirements, unless the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian ITE programme completed by the person.
