Service Leader – Kindergarten
Full-time Permanent role. Hourly rate from $51.42 per hour + superannuation. Great work-life balance | Flexible working options available.
Reporting to the Team Leader Kindergarten, this role provides operational leadership and oversight across multiple kindergarten services. You'll support Educational Leaders and Responsible Persons, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks (including the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework), and help shape consistent, high-quality learning environments across Wodonga. You'll also play a key role in workforce leadership, sector engagement, operational improvement and future planning – balancing day-to-day service needs with longer-term strategy and sustainability.
Key Aspects Of The Role
* Lead safe, high-quality and compliant kindergarten services – act as Nominated Supervisor for designated services, providing calm, confident oversight of day-to-day operations, resourcing and compliance. Support teams to meet legislative and regulatory requirements while maintaining welcoming, well-run environments where children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
* Support and grow educational leadership and practice – coach, mentor and guide teams to strengthen pedagogical practice and capability. Support reflective practice, encourage innovation and ensure programs align with approved early years frameworks – helping educators feel confident, capable and valued.
* Provide people-focused leadership across multiple services – recruit, workforce plan, develop performance and wellbeing across kindergarten teams. Partner closely with People & Safety and the Team Leader Kindergarten to foster a positive, inclusive culture built on trust, care and accountability.
* Strengthen systems, partnerships and future planning – improve systems and processes that support consistency, quality and compliance across services, contribute to future planning, grant opportunities and larger projects. Build strong relationships with families, community partners and sector stakeholders to support sustainable, high-quality services into the future.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring a blend of leadership experience, sector knowledge and genuine care for people, including:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Experience leading teams in a regulated, multi-site or complex service environment
* Strong understanding of early years legislation, compliance and quality frameworks
* Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring and performance development
* Clear, empathetic communication and strong relationship-building skills
* A commitment to child safety, inclusion, integrity and continuous improvement
