* Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans
* Preparing and implementing plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost
* Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements
* Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
* Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times
* Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation
* Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions
* Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance
* Provision of products and services to meet customer or client requirements

Task & responsibilities
* Plan and oversee purchasing activities for Auto parts, accessories, and electronic equipment from multiple suppliers in Australia and overseas
* Source and negotiate with new and existing suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, timely delivery, and quality standards.
* Maintain optimal inventory levels and stock forecasting, with a focus on cost-efficiency and reducing stock discrepancies.
* Monitor freight logistics and manage incoming and outgoing stock allocations at the distribution center.
* Review market trends and customer feedback. Manage quarterly stock takes and reconcile inventory variances.
* Support accounts team in handling product returns, credits, and supplier invoicing.
* Implement and improve procurement systems, workflows, and vendor performance tracking.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety requirements.
Qualification & experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A bachelor's degree or an extensive work experience can substitute this requirement
* Minimum 2‑4 years of proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
* Strong knowledge of inventory systems.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems and freight coordination.
* Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
* Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* High-level in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
