The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men's and Women's Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

About the team

The Security Operations Team is part of the Site Strategy and Facilities Branch in the AIS Operations Group. The Group manages all commercial operations, facilities management and the delivery of performance camps, sports camps and events and leads the Site Strategy Program. The Security Team plays a key role in delivering the Site Strategy and Facilities Branch goals and objectives, including maintaining high‐quality facilities and specialised equipment, buildings, and office equipment in alignment with the strategic capital and site strategies. Security supports a 24/7 operation across multiple ASC sites including the AIS Bruce Campus and Yarralumla Rowing Site. Key responsibilities include the physical, protective and electronic security controls to maintain a robust security environment for the protection of ASC's official assets, resources, staff, NSO/NSODs, residents and visitors.

About the role

This newly commissioned role is critical in growing the ASC security footprint. You will lead the team responsible for the safety and security of athletes, residents, staff and visitors to AIS facilities. Working with teams across the AIS Operations Group, you will ensure the user experience and our training facilities are world class, helping our athletes to perform at their best. In this role, working alongside our Agency Security Advisor, you will grow our security capability, ensuring that emergency and operational activities align with broader organisational governance and assurance processes.

We will rely heavily on your input and expertise in the design and construction of the new facilities delivered through the AIS Podium Project. You will ensure the appropriate physical security measures to meet PSPF compliance are factored into the build and, working with the Project Team, you will be responsible for the safety of visitors, staff and athletes during the construction phase. You may travel to Sydney and Melbourne offices and training facilities on the Gold Coast.

About you

We are looking for a security professional, with tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in multi‐facility and/or campus‐style security. The successful candidate will have:

* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Outstanding people management and persuasion skills.
* Experience in project management, procurement and contract management.
* Demonstrated understanding of the PSPF and experience in developing or improving security plans and policies.
* Demonstrated experience managing financial resources.

This is an ongoing role based in Canberra.

* Options for flexible work arrangements.
* Annual allowances towards training based on individual career goals.
* Access to a customised ASC L&D calendar for ongoing professional and career development.
* Generous superannuation scheme with up to 15.4% employer contribution.

* Access to Clearinghouse for Sport.
