Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, and support business decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain financial statements in compliance with AASB standards
* Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
* Prepare BAS, GST, PAYG, and tax-related reports
* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
* Conduct account reconciliations and variance analysis
* Support audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
* Provide financial insights to management for budgeting and forecasting
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
* Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance (BAS, GST, PAYG)
* Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, SAP, or Oracle)
* Advanced Excel skills
* CPA or CA qualification (or in progress) – preferred
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills
