**About the role**:
GVCASA is one of seventeen sexual assault support services that operate throughout Victoria. Together we work to ensure that people of all genders who are Victim Survivors of sexual assault have access to comprehensive and timely support and interventions to address their needs. GVCASA provides a range of services including counselling, group work, advocacy, secondary consultation, training for other professionals and community education. GVCASA's main office is located in Shepparton and the Centre also provides outreach services throughout the Goulburn (West Hume) Region.
The Education Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning and evaluation of collaborative approaches to personal safety education and community-based violence prevention programs. This role will coordinate projects aimed at strengthening GV Health responses, systems and workforce capability in prevention, early intervention and therapeutic and advocacy responses to sexual assault, family violence, child abuse and elder abuse. This role also has responsibility for ensuring GVH staff have access to evidence based and contemporary knowledge regarding the management of personal safety to self and clients, and violence prevention programs
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Community Development, Public Health or similar, or possess equivalent demonstrated experience;
- Membership of relevant professional body e.g. AASW or APA, Psychologists
- Registration with Psychology Board of Australia;
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the delivery of education, training and/or professional development sessions;
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, preferably in a health care setting;
- Experience in driving cultural change or organisation-wide development programs.
- Sound understanding of current research and theory development regarding the causes, consequences and prevention of sexual assault, family violence, child abuse and elder abuse.
