Bowen Rail Company is growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer – Signals to join our Network team. Reporting to the Signals and telecommunications Manager, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and safety advice for all stakeholders regarding the operation, maintenance, and management of signals and communications infrastructure on the Carmichael Rail Network.

Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, Rail Safety Management, and Statutory Legislation including the Work, Health, and Safety Act 2011 and other relevant rail site rules.
* Liaise with Supervisors and teams to ensure safety compliance and the creation of a safe working environment.
* Ensure safety risks are mitigated by conducting field leadership activities.
* Participate in safety meetings and assigned projects, reviewing incidents and implementing change.
* Plan and execute maintenance projects considering safety, environmental, cost, quality & engineering considerations.
* Undertake project management activities including scoping, budgets, and documentation for track & civil assets.
* Lead planning activities with assistance from internal stakeholders.
* Ensure risk assessment techniques are adopted during the planning and execution process.
* Develop and review maintenance and engineering standards, procedures, and work instructions.
* Provide technical advice to maintenance personnel including maintenance partners.
* Troubleshoot issues and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Investigate Signalling and communication incidents and failures, providing Route Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommendations for improvement.
* Manage suppliers, maintenance partners, and third‐party contractors as required as per contractual requirements.
* Completion of Quality Assurance processes – ITPs, method statements, site records, audits & other project documentation.
* Participate in planning user groups, supplier reviews, forums, project, and operational excellence working groups, and general technical services meetings/discussions.
To be successful, you will either be:
* A Signal Technician with Cert IV in Electrical Rail Signalling looking to develop into the engineering area.
* An Electrical Engineer currently studying for their degree and looking for experience.
* A Graduate Engineer looking for an opportunity to kick start their career.
In addition to bringing the above and previous rail /construction experience the successful application for the position will be able to demonstrate:
* Knowledge of Signalling Systems and equipment.
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and professional presentation skills.
* Effective problem‐solving, conflict‐management skills and experience in leading a safety culture.
