About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our public health team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Communicable Diseases. As part of this role, you will work closely with the Communicable Disease Prevention Unit (CDPU) to develop systems, policies, and clinical practice protocols for communicable diseases prevention.
The CDPU comprises three divisions: Immunisation, Health Intelligence, and Response including Infection Prevention and Control. Our primary goal is to prevent and control communicable diseases within Tasmania through effective engagement with the public and collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expertise and guidance to the Department of Health and other healthcare providers in developing systems, policies, and clinical practice protocols for communicable diseases prevention.
* Collaborate with the CDPU team to implement strategies for disease prevention and control.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated advanced level of clinical nursing expertise in the management of communicable diseases, immunisation, and infection control.
* Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to collaborate within an inter-disciplinary team.
* Demonstrated capacity to undertake research and develop quality improvement principles and strategies in the specialty area.

Eligibility
Suitable applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable criteria include:
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification.
