About Us:
NWQICSS is seeking Support Worker to join the Reducing Demand Program, focused on supporting individuals affected by alcohol misuse. Our approach integrates cultural healing, alcohol education, trauma-informed support, and community-based initiatives. Join us in making a meaningful impact in the Mount Isa Community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in cultural healing activities, including on-country visits and yarning circles.
Support individuals through culturally adapted alcohol education workshops.
Work with trauma-informed professionals to provide counselling and support services.
Assist in organising peer-led recovery programs and family support initiatives.
Collaborate with Elders and local service providers to enhance cultural connectedness.
Understanding of First Nations cultural practices and their significance in healing.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with clients affected by alcohol misuse.
Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Computer-literate and the ability to complete reports.
Current Driver's License.
