Project Engineering Surveyor, Hawkeye Pilbara, Jinbi Project
Hawkeye Pilbara — a partnership between Hawkeye Servicesand Yurra, a majority-owned Yindjibarndi business — is delivering surveying and professional services that create real career pathways and community impact across the Pilbara.
We're recruiting a Project Engineering Surveyor to join our team on the Yindjibarndi Energy Jinbi Project, which includes a 75MWac solar array (expandable to 150MWac), potential BESS, and a self‑sufficient accommodation camp on a greenfield site.
The Role
Full‑time, site‑based Surveyor role supporting civil, structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) works across this large‑scale renewable energy development. Residential, or FIFO (2:1 roster).
You'll be hands‑on with:
* Civil earthworks & SMP set‑out
* Establishing and maintaining survey control
* Data processing and reporting
* Collaboration with project managers and engineers to meet project requirements and timelines, ensuring high‑quality outcomes
* Opportunities to gain experience in UAV surveys and laser scanning
12D and UAV RePL experience are highly regarded.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
* Practical civil/SMP set‑out experience
* Strong skills with Leica Total Stations & GNSS
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings/models
* Solid understanding of QA and spatial control
* Great communication and a reliable work ethic
* Current Australian Working Rights (no sponsorships offered)
Highly desirable: 3D laser scanning, point cloud processing (Cyclone/RealWorks/ReCap), and prior resources or construction experience.
Requirements:
Surveying degree/diploma or equivalent experience, White Card, driver's licence, ability to pass pre‑employment medicals.
