The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough, and Lane, and has been selected to design and construct Snowy 2.0. This project is located within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 marks the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia, providing on-demand energy and large-scale storage for future generations. This iconic project continues to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role:
To conduct market surveys, compare technical and economic assets, and engage with applicants and suppliers to find the best proposals for purchasing. The resource will consult with their manager before issuing orders and will send orders to suppliers.
Qualifications:
* White Card
Experience:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in the Construction Industry in a similar role (preferred)
* Experience with large-scale construction projects or similar works
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Required Competencies:
* Strong knowledge of construction materials and heavy construction industry experience
* Understanding of import/export legislation and requirements
* Knowledge of NSW Government Procurement Guidelines
* Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
* Team-oriented mindset and collaborative skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Time management skills
* Technical writing and communication skills
* Understanding of financial accounting concepts
* Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
* Exceptional attention to detail
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
* Support the Material & Equipment Manager in strategy definition
* Define Vendor List, prepare RFPs, and manage negotiations to optimize costs and quality
* Perform cost analysis and compare offers, ensuring technical approval from relevant departments
* Operate in compliance with project procedures
* Manage supplier relations ethically and in accordance with company policies
* Ensure project delivery within time, cost, quality, safety, environmental, and community constraints
* Conduct market surveys and select the best proposals
* Review expenditure against budget and obtain procurement approvals
* Build and maintain positive supplier relationships
* Coordinate procurement timelines with department heads
* Expedite deliveries as needed
* Ensure deliverables meet project deadlines
* Draft purchase order terms and conditions with legal and contractual support
