Research Associate in Experimental Nonlinear Optics
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the leading Physics departments in Australia. The University of Sydney's School of Physics are welcoming applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Nonlinear Optics.
About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will join a well-established team and be a part of an ARC-funded Discovery Project that aims to generate and investigate several novel families of nonlinear optical soliton pulses by using a dispersion-managed laser developed at the University of Sydney.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Carry out laboratory-based research and numerical analysis at the forefront of ultrafast science and nonlinear optics.
* Work closely with the team to generate novel soliton pulses and harness their properties in photonic applications.
* Develop and refine research skills and independent research under the supervision of more senior academic staff within the School/Faculty.

About You

* A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject.
* Proven ability in experimental nonlinear optics or ultrafast laser science, and preferably in both.
* Strong numerical simulation skills.
* The ability to work autonomously.
* An excellent track record in conducting original research.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Requirements
* Full time, 12 months fixed term. Located on the Camperdown Campus.
* Base Salary, Level A $105,314 - $116,679 p.a + 17% superannuation.
