Irrigation Specialist Role Overview
Our irrigation specialist will be responsible for ensuring all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are met in accordance with our health, safety, and quality guidelines.
* They will coordinate the daily operations of other production team members in their respective areas.
* The specialist will provide training to new and current operators on all associated irrigation duties.
* Daily climate and irrigation feed checks will be performed in line with programmed fertigation feed parameters scheduled by our system, with feedback provided to the climate systems and irrigation lead.
* The specialist will analyze data from Grodan GroSens and PRIVA Connext to make informed crop decisions regarding fertigation.
* Liaison with the climate systems and irrigation lead is required for the operation of our mildura fertigation system, including formulation of concentrated nutrient stock solutions, sampling of nutrient recycle solution, water systems checks, and calibration of pH probes in line with our quality management system (QMS) SOPs.
* A safe working culture within the fertigation area and wider cultivation team will be promoted.
* Irrigation maintenance on drip irrigation feed lines will be performed.
* Crop issues related to fertigation will be resolved, and yield improvements driven in collaboration with the climate systems and irrigation lead.
* Mildura fertigation projects and equipment qualification activities will be managed in liaison with the climate systems and irrigation lead.
* Raw material and fertiliser inventories will be managed, with purchase requests generated through our ERP system.
* Fertigation records, such as nutrient bill of materials (BOMs), will be evaluated and signed in line with good documentation practices (GDP).
* A clean working space within the Fertigation Room will be maintained, adhering to cleaning schedules and processes outlined in relevant SOPs.
* Business, safety, and quality issues will be reported using the appropriate processes and systems.
* The specialist will direct and assist production operators – cultivators in performing their duties.
* Continuous improvement of systems and processes within the cultivation team will be driven by the specialist.
