The Role and Hospital
A highly skilled Consultant Urologist is required to deliver high-quality clinical services at the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
* Perform after-hours and weekend clinical duties as rostered.
* Provide clinical assistance in emergencies as directed.
* Supervise trainees and other staff as appropriate.
* Deliver education sessions for medical staff, students, allied health professionals, community groups, and nursing staff.
* Contribute to patient safety initiatives, audit, research, and service planning activities.
About the Hospital
Mackay Base Hospital is a 236-bed regional hospital serving 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities across the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region. The hospital is undergoing a major redevelopment, expanding its services and infrastructure. It is the first regional hospital in Queensland to implement a complete integrated electronic medical record system.
Requirements
To be successful, applicants must hold registration (or eligibility) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent, preferably having completed their training in the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
