New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua Current Guineans at full production, and over the last 30 years of life of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea’s total annual exports.
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Manager – Compliance & Business Integrity to join our Porgera based operation responsible for further supporting and enhancing NPL’s efforts to prevent misconduct and foster compliance with laws and regulations whilst promoting a culture of integrity and transparency.
Reporting to our Senior VP, Business Assurance, Risk & Integrity, the roles focus will include building a culture and strengthening our frameworks and systems that monitor business practices and compliance; identifying, managing and mitigating risks; refining policies while also playing a key part in driving a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making and conduct, enabling our operations to remain transparent, compliant, and aligned with our values.
The role is the primary advisor to management and employees on compliance, ethics, and integrity-related matters and will entail duties such as due diligence on related internal and external parties, including assessment of compliance risks (anti-bribery, anti-corruption), sanctions, and other regulatory matters and investigations relating to alleged misconduct, fraud/bribery/corruption, human rights complaints, business integrity matters, ethnic matters and security/legal/ethical compliance, ensuring impartial and thorough documented outcomes.
You will model safety behaviours and values, coach and developing the team across all compliance related matters. NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter, with a strong delivery focus.
About you

Given the dynamic environment, you must demonstrate agility and an ability to work effectively under pressure, whilst maintaining the highest ethical standards.
You will hold a bachelor’s degree in law (or related field) or comparable compliance qualification with significant demonstrable experience in compliance, risk management, and/or investigations combined with knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and corporate governance standards, ideally in a developing nation.
To succeed in this role, you must be a solution focused subject matter expert with strong corporate investigation, analytical, research and problem-solving skills with meticulous approach to monitoring investigations, including utilisation, analysis and documentation of data, recommending effective solutions. You will be able to collaborate across functions and build strong professional relationships, showing an understanding and sensitivity to working in multicultural environments.
Prior knowledge of Papua New Guinea's regulatory environment and community dynamic is highly desirable.

This role is site based with some time spent in Port Moresby, offered on a FIFO basis either from Papua New Guinea or Australia/New Zealand with a 21/14 roster with a highly competitive remuneration package.
