This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, ****
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers.
A mandatory CV template is provided for use.
Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage.
The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The succesful applicant will ideally have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and establish and maintain positive relationships.
You should be flexible and able to apply strategies for differentiated instruction in the Science curriculum under the guidance of a collaborative leadership structure including a dedicated Head of Learning Area who will provide mentoring around curriculum and instructional strategies.
Additionally, teachers at the school are expected to embrace the Whole School Instructional Model which features components of an Explicit Direct Instruction methodology.

You will ideally be actively involved, both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.
Applicants should ideally be motivated, possessing the ability to teach secondary Science and will be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum.
The ability to teach General Year 11 and 12 courses and lower school Mathematics would be advantageous.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Katanning Senior High School in **** are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $***** (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure).
Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.
Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and southwest teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.
At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
