Help shape Australia's digital defence capabilities.
As an HPE Presales Technical Consultant, you'll be the trusted advisor guiding Defence and Federal agencies through their digital transformation journey.
Working closely with account teams and technical stakeholders, you'll architect secure, mission-ready Compute solutions—spanning servers, hybrid cloud, and "as-a-service" models—that enable agility, resilience, and innovation.
What You'll Do
Be the Technical StrategistDesign scalable Compute architectures tailored for Defence and Federal environments.
Translate mission requirements into secure, outcome-based solutions.
Quantify value, define ROI/TCO, and influence CxO-level decision-making.
Be the Trusted AdvisorLead technical workshops with agency executives, architects, and engineers.
Build long-term relationships and contribute to account strategy.
Identify gaps, compliance needs, and emerging opportunities to grow the pipeline.
Be the EvangelistDeliver impactful presentations, demos, and proofs-of-concept showcasing Compute innovation.
Represent HPE at defence-focused events and partner engagements.
Stay ahead of trends in secure Compute, hybrid cloud, and consumption-based IT.
Be the Deal ChampionDevelop end-to-end technical proposals aligned with security and compliance standards.
Collaborate with specialists and product teams to craft winning solutions.
Support pipeline prioritisation and deal progression from opportunity to close.
Be the Mentor & CollaboratorShare best practices, upskill peers, and foster a collaborative technical community.
Influence cross-functional projects and contribute to enterprise solution strategy.
What You Bring
Active Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher required).
8–12 years in technical consulting, solution architecture, or pre-sales engineering.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
Expertise in Compute technologies (servers, virtualisation, hybrid cloud) and secure architectures.
Familiarity with Defence and Federal procurement processes and compliance frameworks.
Relevant certifications (cloud, security, infrastructure) strongly preferred.
Advanced communication, storytelling, and influence skills.
Strong business and financial acumen to link technology to mission outcomes.
