Position Overview
The Irrigation Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the health and usability of sports turf across council-managed fields and precincts. You will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and strategic development of irrigation systems to achieve efficient water use and optimal turf conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting regular audits of irrigation systems
* Diagnosing and repairing faults promptly
* Collaborating with Sports Turf Managers to align irrigation with turf care plans
* Installing new components and integrating smart technologies to improve efficiency
What You Bring to the Team
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail are essential.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Trade Certificate and Contractor Licence in irrigation or plumbing
* Demonstrated experience in irrigation system maintenance and installation, preferably in sports turf or open space environments
* Familiarity with automated and smart irrigation systems
* Competency in using irrigation software and digital controllers
Desirable qualifications:
* Trade qualifications in turf management
* Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certificate
* Backflow prevention certification
* Experience using a water jetter
* Asbestos awareness training

* Package: From $85,077 - $92,510 + 12% superannuation
* Hours of work: Permanent Full-time 38 hours per week 9-day fortnight.
