Join Macquarie University as a Research Associate in Maths Drive PDE/geometric analysis research, publish, and collaborate in a leading, vibrant academic team.
* Salary Package: From $109,272 (Level A, Step 6 - PhD awarded rate) to $117,108 (Level A, Step 8 - PhD awarded rate) p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
* Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years
* Location: Faculty of Science & Engineering at Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Research Associate with a strong background in mathematics to support research activities within the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. The appointee will contribute to the production of high-quality research, journal publications, and professional engagement, while also supporting limited teaching and administrative duties as required.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role based at Macquarie University's Wallumattagal Campus in North Ryde, reporting to Dr Paul Bryan. The position supports Dr. Bryan's research project with Prof. Ben Andrews and Dr. Julie Clutterbuck.
About You
You will hold a doctoral qualification in Mathematics and bring a strong track record in research aligned with partial differential equations and/or geometric analysis. You will demonstrate the ability to work independently, contribute to team-based projects, and guide postgraduate students. You will also be capable of publishing in high-quality academic journals and engaging professionally within the mathematical sciences community.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct research under limited supervision, either independently or as part of a team.
* Contribute to journal publications and other academic outputs.
* Engage in professional activities such as attending conferences and seminars in the field of expertise, subject to funding.
* Perform limited administrative duties related to research.
* Make occasional contributions to teaching programs as determined by the requirements of the School.
* Undertake other duties as directed.
