Substance Abuse Counsellor
Job Description:
This role involves providing assessment, counselling and follow-up for clients seeking assistance with substance use issues.
* Conduct initial intake and ongoing client assessments to enable planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group counselling, support, education, community liaison and referrals using a variety of modalities.
* Ensure high quality clinical documentation as aligned with the electronic client record.
* Engage with the treating General Practitioners and other services involved in client care.
* Detect and respond to emerging trends or gaps in service delivery that may impact on the effectiveness of the treatment programs.
This position requires a strong ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and to liaise with a range of services. Successful applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Counselling and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional organisation.
Benefits:
* Salary: $79,823 to $112,259 plus 11.5% superannuation
