Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been serving Australians since 1928. We provide emergency aeromedical and allied health services for people in rural and remote Australia, and aim to improve health and wellbeing in our communities.
About the Program
Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non‐Emergency Patient Transport primarily in Victoria and New South Wales. We operate a large fleet of ambulances and support our services with RFDS aircraft. MPC provides clinical care for patients travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital, hospital to home, and to/from specialist clinics.
About the Role
As a Patient Transport Officer, you will be responsible for the safe and courteous transportation of patients with a variety of medical conditions. The role involves structured training, professional development, and support within an inclusive organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform patient assessment and intervention on‐road
* Provide high‐quality patient care and treatment during on‐road transport
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders
* Perform independently and solve problems within established policies and procedures
* Work collaboratively with other team members
To be Successful, You Will Need
* Recent graduation (within 18 months) of Certificate III in Non‐Emergency Patient Transport
* Availability to work 10‐ and 12‐hour shifts across 7 days
* Ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions
* Compassionate, professional, and dedicated to providing excellent service
* Experience working in the NEPT sector desirable but not essential
* Completion of safety screening including a current full driver's licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and right to work in Australia
