Want to play a pivotal role in strengthening Meli’s safeguarding culture and incident management practices?

Sitting within the Quality & Risk Team and reporting to the Manager of Quality & Risk, this senior position is responsible for designing, implementing, and continually improving systems that ensure Meli meets its regulatory, legislative, and organisational obligations. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to embed child safety, effective incident management, and strong records management into everyday practice.

About the Role

As a Senior Advisor – Safeguarding & Incident Management, you will:

* Lead the review, development, and enhancement of Meli’s incident and feedback systems to ensure operational effectiveness, governance compliance, and alignment with external reporting obligations, including the DFFH Client Incident Management System (CIMS).
* Design and deliver high‑quality incident management and child safe training, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build organisation-wide capability.
* Provide expert consultancy and support to staff in managing, reporting, and responding to incidents, feedback, complaints, and allegations in line with legislation, policy, and best practice.
* Oversee and guide compliance with key safeguarding and child safety obligations, including the Reportable Conduct Scheme, Child Safe Standards, privacy legislation, and related frameworks.
Position Details
* Fixed term, full time position until 05 March 2027
* 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
* $119,350 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
* Bachelor’s degree in social science or relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
* Significant experience in the management of quality, risk, or continuous improvement projects in complex service environments.
* Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.
* Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in QIP or quality equivalent systems, and risk management methodologies and knowledge of relevant legislation and standards relating to delivery of human services.
* Knowledge and practical application of legislation, practices and procedures, including a detailed understanding of the DFFH Client Incident Management Policy and CCYP Reportable Conduct Scheme and related investigation frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising staff.
