About the role
Join King of the Hills as an experienced HSEQ Advisor. This position will be on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth. Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, this site-based role will suit experienced professionals with previous surface mining experience.
* Ensure effective implementation and compliance with the systems and processes outlined in the HSEQ Management Plan
* Provide HSEQ Management Systems mentoring and guidance to leaders and workers
* Liaising with our clients in relation to WHS activities and site-based lead and lag indicators
* Assisting with accident/incident investigations as required
* Facilitating risk assessments to support operations and their ability to control and reduce risks across our activities
* Maintaining and reviewing site corrective action and hazard reporting processes
* Completing site inspections and audits in line with the group annual safety planner and site-based activity planners
* Completing monthly safety reporting and daily inputs into the company's event management system
* Assisting supervision with injury management and return-to-work processes
* Monitoring the mental health of our people and referring them to EAP services as needed
About you
* Previous surface mining experience in a similar role, accompanied by a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
* Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA) and similar legislation in other states
* Experience in HSEQ management systems and the ability to implement HSEQ Management Plan deliverables
* Qualification in incident investigation methodology, such as ICAM
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills
* High level of computer literacy
* A 'can-do' attitude with a strong desire to succeed in the role and a passion for health, safety, environment, and quality
* Senior First Aid Certificate
* Current Manual "C" Class WA Driver's Licence or equivalent
