Employment type – Temporary full-time until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of an extension
Salary - $99,398.00 pa to $110,271.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
Help shape the future of inclusion at the Department of Communities and Justice As the Digital Accessibility Support Officer, you'll be working with a team of digital specialists to inspire human-centric and accessible experiences on DCJ websites and intranet.
What you'll do
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that content published on websites and intranets is accessible and provides a customer-centric user experience. Your responsibilities will include conducting accessibility audits, testing and evaluations to identify and address any barriers to accessibility in digital products and services. You will also be expected to stay up to date with the latest accessibility guidelines and best practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), as well as universal and human-centred design approaches.
The position sits within the Accessibility and UX team, part of the Digital Experience Unit. The culture is supportive, friendly and passionate about accessibility and digital inclusion.
What we're looking for
In addition to the essential requirements noted in the role description, the ideal candidate will have:
* Solid understanding of accessibility principles, empathy for users, a commitment to user-centred design, and strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, with clear examples of effective collaboration within cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Developers and Product Managers.
* Demonstrated experience in testing, auditing and reviewing accessible communications.
* Passion and commitment to inclusion.
