About the role
We are seeking an experienced Water Operations Coordinator to provide strong operational leadership across Logan Water's water supply systems, including reservoirs, pump stations, district metered areas and chlorine dosing facilities.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving performance through clear KPIs, data led decision making and disciplined operational governance. You will lead a large multidisciplinary team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure water operations remain safe, compliant, efficient and customer focused.
A key part of the role is translating strategy into action. You will coordinate day to day operations while also leading continuous improvement initiatives across leakage management, DMA performance, SCADA optimisation and drinking water quality compliance. Your ability to manage risk, influence stakeholders and deliver measurable improvements in performance will be critical to success.
Key indicators:
* Provide visible leadership across all water operations activities, setting clear direction, expectations and accountability for performance
* Lead a team of up to 25 staff, driving capability, engagement, safety and high performance outcomes
* Coordinate water operations across reservoirs, pump stations, DMAs and dosing facilities to meet agreed service levels and regulatory requirements
* Establish, monitor and report on KPI driven operational performance, using data and analytics to inform decisions and drive improvement
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives across water quality compliance, leakage management, SCADA optimisation and system configuration
* Maintain and improve HACCP systems aligned to international standards for drinking water quality management
* Provide expert technical advice to support operational changes, shutdowns, capital works interfaces and complex network events
* Build and maintain strong external stakeholder relationships, including regulators, Seqwater, Transport and Main Roads, Council branches and industry partners
* Represent Logan Water in industry, regulatory and community forums, providing trusted expert advice and leadership
* Oversee operational reporting, budgeting, benchmarking and performance assessment against industry peers
* Champion a strong safety culture and risk based decision making across water operations
You'll possess
* Extensive experience operating and leading large, complex water supply systems
* Strong people leadership capability, including experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a utilities environment
* Demonstrated ability to deliver performance outcomes through KPI management, reporting and continuous improvement
* Proven experience working with regulators and external stakeholders in highly regulated environments
* Strong technical knowledge of water supply operations, drinking water quality and SCADA systems
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex technical reports and operational submissions
* Strong business and program management capability with a whole of business mindset
* An engineering qualification is highly desirable, with relevant industry experience essential
Requirements
* Possession of a current C class driver licence
* Ability to be appointed as an authorised person and pass a powers of entry test for relevant legislation
* Successful completion of employment related background checks, including a National Police History Check
* Willingness to participate in after hours and on call duties as required by the business
