Overview:
A skilled and experienced Baltic Stonemason specializing in the precise cutting, shaping, and installation of natural and engineered stone for both structural and decorative applications. Known for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes that reflect traditional European masonry standards combined with modern design techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare surfaces and foundations for stone installation by ensuring proper leveling, alignment, and structural stability.
* Install natural and engineered stone for walls, floors, benchtops, facades, cladding, and decorative features according to project specifications.
* Accurately measure and mark installation areas to ensure precise placement and seamless jointing.
* Cut and shape stone pieces using hand tools, grinders, and saws to achieve exact dimensions and finishes.
* Mix, apply, and finish mortar, adhesives, or epoxy to securely set stone in place.
* Align and level stone units using spirit levels, spacers, and measuring tools for a flawless finish.
* Seal and polish installed stone surfaces to enhance appearance and durability.
* Inspect completed installations for quality, stability, and aesthetic standards.
* Collaborate with builders, designers, and site supervisors to meet project timelines and design requirements.
* Maintain a safe and organized work area, following all health and safety regulations.
SKills And Qualification
* Proven experience in stonemasonry or stone fabrication, preferably within the Baltic or European construction tradition.
* Strong understanding of stone types, properties, and preservation methods.
* Excellent manual dexterity, physical strength, and spatial awareness.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Knowledge of restoration techniques and traditional craftsmanship methods.
* Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
* Work in heritage restoration, architectural stonework, or bespoke stone projects.
* Familiarity with CNC stone cutting or modern stone fabrication technologies.
