BREADS by The Standard Market Company is located within the gourmet, fine food emporium at the Brickworks, Southport. Owned and operated by The Standard Market Company, a retail company that specializes in gourmet food, you will be joining a vibrant team and a business that is undergoing major growth.
We have a Casual opportunity for a Bakery Assistant to join our very busy Team.
You must be available for early morning starts (5:00AM) for morning set up and some closes (6:00PM)
Availability on Weekend availability is essential.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include but not be limited to the following:
* Store setup - Packaging, wrapping different bakery products to be displayed on shelves.
* Arranging Cake and Food Displays.
* Slicing breads, heating pies, merchandising, assisting Bakers/Pastry Chefs with packaging, serving customers.
* Providing exceptional Customer Service
* Taking orders over the phone
* Use of POS Registers
* EFTPOS & Cash Handling
* Cleaning & sanitisation of display cabinets and direct work areas.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you must meet the following criteria:
* Our ideal candidate will be available for an immediate start and be able to work 5 days a week, with weekends essential.
* You must be physically fit as this role requires you to be able to lift and move products regularly.
* Be reliable and hardworking.
* Be a team player with good communication skills.
* Have a passion for high quality baked goods.
* Previous experience within a Bakery environment will be highly regarded.
