Female Disability Support Worker – Mental Health Support (NDIS)

About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, reliable and professional Female Disability Support Workers to provide one-on-one support to an NDIS participant with mental health needs. You will play a key role in promoting safety, independence and wellbeing while delivering supports that align with the NDIS Practice Standards, including person-centred care, choice & control, and safeguarding.
This role suits someone who is calm under pressure, trauma-informed, and confident in supporting participants who may experience fluctuating mental health.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred mental health support in line with the participant's NDIS goals.
* Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, light domestic duties and community access.
* Support the development of emotional regulation, coping strategies and social skills.
* Implement behaviour support strategies as outlined in the participant's Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), where applicable.
* Promote safety, dignity, privacy and choice in all interactions.
* Encourage community participation, social inclusion and engagement in meaningful activities.
* Monitor changes in mood, behaviour or wellbeing and report concerns promptly.
* Maintain accurate shift notes and incident reporting in accordance with NDIS requirements.
* Assist with transport to appointments and community activities (if required).
* Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
About You
* Female worker required due to participant preference and support needs (NDIS-aligned).
* Experience supporting clients with mental health conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, mood disorders).
* Trauma-informed, patient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and follow support plans.
* Professional, reliable and committed to safeguarding and person-centred practice.
Essential Requirements
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current Working With Children Check (Ochre Card in NT)
* First Aid & CPR
* Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
* COVID-19 vaccination
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, or equivalent experience
