Join our Downer Professional Services team as a Project Manager in Melbourne to work on Land projects.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including delivering complex defence projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Base pay range
A$151,000.00/yr - A$196,000.00/yr
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for IBMS initiatives.
- Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business needs.
- Engage with internal teams, vendors, and contractors for effective collaboration and communication.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing contingency plans.
- Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, ICT, or Engineering, with specialist experience in defining requirements, and planning, monitoring, and controlling capability life cycles.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and manage technical, operational, and logistical issues to support capability delivery.
- Expertise in evaluating capability sustainment to ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong collaborative skills with effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly desirable knowledge of Australian and international standards, Land C4 environment experience, Agile project management, and certified membership with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
